First published in 1972 and periodically updated and revised, this anthology & guidebook (with a range of invited authors and fine photography) is still considered a classic. Despite the change in tastes many of the routes remain on the "must-do" agenda of all keen climbers. The book contains 57 chapters (each written by a guest climber) with 16 climbs from Scotland, 11 from the Lake District, 15 from Wales, 11 from the Peak and Pennines and 6 from South-West England. With gradings ranging from VS to E2 this showcases some of the finest climbs in Britain.
